McCain's VP Pick

I'm not sure why I didn't see this coming...but ummmm.. Yea!
McCain definitely surprised me with this pick, Sarah Palin.

Honestly, if I was a Hillary supporter, I would honestly be offended! Regardless of what the the Republican strategists say...this is a very desperate attempt by the McCain campaign to sway Hillary's supporters. Right off the back Palin started reaching out to Hillary's supporters. As a woman, I am somewhat insulted! You figured most women voted for Hillary because she's a woman. Ok, that may be right for some...however, have it ever occurred to the McCain campaign that people actually LIKED Hillary? Yes, she had her faults...however, she still received 18 million votes! That's something that can not go unnoticed!

I'm reading all these different blogs about this story! And honestly, there are actually women out there (e.g. P.U.M.A) that will be voting for McCain come election day because of this decision. I'm not sure if they just really really hate Obama or they just really want a woman (any) to be in the White House! The most interesting thing I heard about her all day was the fact that she loves moose burgers. Yes folks... moose burgers. Apparently that's the big thing in Alaska!

I mean...come on people! This is really annoying me! So let's say the tables were turned. Let's say...Hillary won the Democratic nomination and she selected John Edwards (w/o the controversy) as her VP vhoice. So to try to get the black Democrats, the McCain camp chose a black person as his VP. Do you really think blacks would flock to the GOP? Hellllllll Nooooo! #1...If you are a real Democrat, you can not seriously vote for them! They are against everything that the Democratic party stands for! Come on ladies! We are smarter than that! If you are pro-choice...Sarah Palin is not your lady! If you support gay rights...Sarah Palin is not your lady! If you believe in the theory of evolution...Sarah Palin is not your lady! She's an ultra-conservative!

McCain alone is a bad choice for women! He voted against equal pay for women! He also voted against the domestic violence act!

If McCain wins... I can honestly see many people doing the same thing they did after the voted for G. Bush the second time.... they would regret it! Election day isn't here yet! Please... let's make a smart choice.

DNC - Day One

So I've just finished watching Michelle Obama's speech! WOW! This is literally one of the best speeches I've heard! I mean... I'm still tearing up. Her speech felt like it came from the heart! It was so real!

To Drink or Not to Drink...that's the question!

So there apparently seems to be this debate about changing the drinking age from 21 to 18.

Here's my view...

I do not want to party with 18 year olds in the lounge/club/etc.! Yes, that's the reason I am against it.

The New Me'Shell!

I'm at a point in my life where I just want to start over. I mean...what the heck do I have to lose?! This weekend, I went for a new "do. " So now my hair is right below my ears. I'm not sure if I really like it. The guy clipped a little too much for my liking...but eh..it's hair! It will grow back.

Could I be going through some sort of a mid-mid-life crisis? UGH! But anywho...I am also currently looking for a part-time job. I'm hoping to get a job working at either Coach, Nordstroms...or one of my favorite stores. Yes.. I know! You should never work where you shop! HOWEVER.... I need that good ole discount! Plus...X-Mas is coming up soon! (& so is my b'day!)

But back to my reinvention! I hope to lose about 10 pounds. Please folks..don't start with the whole.. you don't need to lose weight crap! I just want to! I think I need to go for a run! Now that the weather is cooling down, this might be the perfect time to do so! I also plan on taking advantage of bookstores & libraries. I really need to read more! I feel like I haven't read much since I graduated (2 years ago!).

I guess I can also take advantage of websites that allow folks to share books.

But I guess that's all for now. I'll try to keep you posted!

R.I.P. George "Skinny" Turner

A year ago...I lost a great friend! Although we went through our ups and downs.... I must say that I am grateful that I had the chance to have him in my life. R.I.P. George

Lemonade Stand

While on the bus the other day, I saw a couple of girls in front of a house selling lemonade. Please excuse me, but where I'm from....there were no lemonade stands. I was almost tempted to get off the bus to get a cup...but then I started questioning what type of water they used to make the lemonade. You know me... I do not drink faucet water.
